Amber as Miss Sally Rand!

Bio & Performances

BIOGRAPHY

Amber has been performing her signature performance in a One Woman Show as Sally Rand; bringing to life all the wit and charm of the American icon for over 10 years. She has performed from coast to coast and for four generations of Sally’s family. Her portrayal includes the beautiful and ethereal Fandance.   Amber has been dubbed “The Master of the Historic Double-Take”! Her most unusual performance....Amber was a “Mermaid in a Fishbowl” an illusion by Kansas City Magician Steve Payton. She also traveled one Summer with Professor Stu’s World of Magic as a featured dancer and the Professor “burned her alive” as Darth Vader in an over the top illusion!

She has a dance and theater background of 20 years, dancing professionally as a Middle Eastern Belly Dancer, Polynesian Dancer and Fandancer. She has taught dance, co-hosted the lively and informative Talk Radio show “What’s Cooking!” for 4 ½ years with her late husband Chef John DiGiovanni, established the first scholarship for Search and Rescue Dogs in America: "The Canine Hero Fund©", has appeared on film in the HBO Movie “Truman” with Gary Sinese and was the director and founder
of the Sally Rand Museum in Sally’s native Missouri.

In addition, Amber has also portrayed the Hollywood star and the woman who could do everything Fred Astaire could.... but backwards and in high heels: Ginger Rogers and the blonde bombshell: Jean Harlow in One Woman Shows. The Sally, Harlow and Ginger shows made up her “Famous Missouri Women of the 30’s” Series.

As a Chef, Amber was a regular feature on the local ABC Affiliate KQ2's “Hometown This Morning” program with a culinary segment for two years. She authored her first cookbook in 2006: "A Passion For Food©" and her second cookbook: "Midwestern Soul Food©" in 2010, has written three children’s books, and served her Country in the United States Air Force Reserves.

She currently is Host of the radio talk show “What’s Cooking! with Chef Amber©” The tastiest talk show in America©! and is completing a screenplay about Sally Rand's life and remarkable career. In her spare time she makes morale visits to hospitalized Veterans.

"You are the Renaissance Woman, Amber. So unique. You're an original!" D.Y.
